RCD

There is a device that could save your life and your employees, if installed and maintained properly.

It's a safety switch, which can also be commonly referred to as a Residual Current Device (RCD)

It works by cutting the power if the device detects an abnormal interruption. The device was developed to help save lives especially where the abnormal interruption is a person becoming path of least resistance to earth, or in layman’s terms is receiving an electric shock.

People can become the earthed current conductor when an appliance is faulty or there is a leakage in the power circuit and they come into direct contact with the live voltage

The energised circuit is grounded through the body of the person, rather than back through the electrical circuit, which can cause serious harm or death

The only way you'll know if there is an electrical problem is if someone gets an electrical shock, so it’s best to have regular testing and tagging in conjunction with RCD testing to reduce the risk and ensure your workplace is as safe as possible

If you want to know that the power will be immediately cut if an issue arises, it’s imperative that you have regular RCD testing by a qualified professional.

Our Qualified and trained professionals perform all RCD Testing as prescribed by AS/NZS 3760:2010.
